Amateur MMA programs are growing across Canada!

This new discipline provides a solid grassroots system for young athletes to gain valuable competitive experience in a safe and structured environment.

By offering this opportunity, amateur MMA will pave the way for athletes to smoothly transition into professional ranks, should they choose that path. Participants will also benefit from the chance to compete in local tournaments across Ontario, building their skills and experience.

Moreover, the program will create avenues for athletes to compete in provincial and national championships. Ontario's elite MMA athletes will even have the opportunity to represent Canada in international competitions, such as the amateur Pan American and World Championships.

This is a thrilling time for the combative sports sector, as well as for the athletes and coaches who will now have the chance to participate in officially sanctioned local competitions and potentially enter the global MMA arena.

To kick-start the sport’s development in Ontario, the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) will host the first judge and referee certification program ever held in Canada. This comprehensive two-day course will train, mentor, and certify the initial wave of IMMAF amateur officials in the country.

The course is open to individuals with an interest and experience in MMA. If you're passionate about becoming a certified amateur official, you can register using the link below. Spaces are limited, so be sure to secure your spot early!
